On Saturday night, Russian aviation authorities reported that a plane had gone missing in Afghanistan. According to their statement on Sunday, the aircraft may have had six passengers on board. Meanwhile, local police in Afghanistan have received reports of a plane crash occurring last night. The Russian aviation authorities clarified that the missing plane was a charter ambulance flight traveling from India to Moscow via Uzbekistan. Earlier, Zabiullah Amiri, head of the information department in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, informed AFP that "The plane crashed. However, it is not yet known where it crashed. We have sent a team from here. They haven't reached there yet." Zabiullah also mentioned that they received information about the plane crash from local residents in the morning. The plane is believed to have disappeared over the Hindu Kush mountain range in Badakhshan province. This region is home to Mount Noshak, the highest mountain in Afghanistan, standing at 24,580 feet high.
