Israel Strikes and Kills Top Hezbollah Commander in Lebanon In a recent attack on Lebanon, Israel has successfully targeted and killed Bisham Hasan Tabil, also known as Jawad, a prominent commander of the Hezbollah group. Jawad played a crucial role in leading counter-attacks against Israeli forces along Lebanon's southern border. The information was disclosed by an official from the Lebanese security forces who spoke to AFP on Monday, requesting anonymity for security reasons. According to the official, Israel conducted the attack on the commander's car in southern Lebanon. The deceased commander had held various significant positions within the Iran-backed Hezbollah group. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which started on October 7, has resulted in almost daily confrontations between Hezbollah fighters and the Israeli army along the Lebanese border. Over the past three months, more than 180 individuals, including 135 Hezbollah fighters, have lost their lives in border clashes in Lebanon. Simultaneously, northern Israel witnessed the death of nine Israeli soldiers and at least four civilians. Last week, fears of the conflict escalating regionally emerged after the death of Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy head of Hamas, in an Israeli drone strike in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. In response to this development, Israel launched another attack on Lebanon, resulting in the killing of the Hezbollah commander.
